A handheld AI companion for questions, learning and everyday problem-solving beyond reliable internet. Local models, a private SAGE, voice and a camera. Lantern brings the memory and transport work into a device.

Experimental transport across LoRa and IP. Recipient-encrypted messages, signed resources and verified chunks, with work on keeping progress through a change of path. Standalone, with its own protocol.
Talk to the agent on your Mac.
A personal AI and agent manager reached through Signal text, voice notes or a live call. SAGE keeps its memory, and it can hand work to your other agents. Local models by default, on a Mac you own.
The longer view is SAGE Commons: useful knowledge shared deliberately, reviewed and made available to others. Personal knowledge stays personal.

I'm Dhillon. Bringing curious people together and building things they can take apart has kept me busy for a while.
I'm the founder and CEO of Hack In The Box, the security conference series running since 2003. Research, deep technical work and the people behind it have always been the interesting part.
Outside that, I'm usually thinking up solutions to problems nobody asked me to solve, or making live modular techno with eurorack as DHANKA.
